Canoe Paddling Scholarships

We are actively seeking sports-related scholarship resources for our Maui youth who have a desire in pursuing a higher education. If you have any information to share, please contact us. Mahalo!

THE LAKE ‘OHANA SCHOLARSHIP

The Lake ‘Ohana Scholarship was founded by Aunty Miriam Lake several years ago to provide financial assistance to a Hawaiian Canoe Club member pursuing a higher education. All current members of Hawaiian Canoe Club are eligible. Applicants need not be graduating seniors nor attending a 4 year university. The scholarship is to support any and all members who are pursuing a higher education whether that would be a Bachelor’s Degree or a Massage Therapist License.

STEVE MOSER SCHOLARSHIP

Dr. Steven Moser was a beloved member of the Maui community who passed away in 2005. Dr. Moser’s ‘ohana and friends have sponsored an educational scholarship in his name, to be given to a paddler from Hawaiian Canoe Club. Scholarship applicants were ranked on Hawaiian values that Steve respected and acted upon during his lifetime.

KIHEI CANOE CLUB YOUTH PADDLER SCHOLARSHIP

In keeping with its vision to support Maui’s youth, Kihei Canoe Club offers up to five (5) scholarships, each for a minimum of $500.00, to support youth paddlers’ goals of accessing post-high school education.
