Catching up: Hāna scores 20 in the fourth to shut out Lānaʻi
Published
Hāna and Lānaʻi were scoreless through three quarters before the Dragons scored 20 straight in the fourth for a 20–0 eight-player football win on Oct. 2.
One more early-October result for the record books, and it was a nail-biter until the very end.
Hāna hosted Lānaʻi in an eight-player MIL football game on Friday, Oct. 2, and neither team could find the end zone for three full quarters. Then the Dragons’ defense broke it open. An interception returned for a touchdown, plus a two-point conversion, gave Hāna an 8–0 lead. A second defensive score, this time on a fumble recovery, made it 14–0 after the two-point try came up short. A 6-yard touchdown run finished off the 20–0 shutout, according to The Maui News.
The two teams met again eight days later on Lānaʻi, and Hāna won that one too, 36–20. Read our recap of the rematch.
