Girls varsity water polo
Wailuku · Spring school season
School athletics ↗
Water polo combines endurance, skill and split-second decisions in the pool.
Water polo combines swimming, passing, shooting and team defense in a game played entirely in the pool. Players tread water throughout play and must control the ball with one hand, making swimming strength and endurance essential. Young athletes typically build strong swim skills first, then learn positioning, passing and game tactics.
Maui youth water polo grows out of the island’s broader aquatics community and school competition.
School teams are the established local pathway. See the school programs below.
School teams are open to enrolled students. The athletics office can help with tryouts, clearance, equipment and practices.
